Rehearsal Pictures

After much searching I've managed to come across a few pictures of Faye rehearsing for her new role as Liesl Von Trapp.

Don't forget 'The Sound of Music' starts tomorrow at Regents Park Open Air Theatre and runs for nearly 7 weeks.

If you haven't already booked your tickets I suggest you do so now because you wont just get to see one of the most talented young performers in the UK perform in a truly amazing show but also experience the magic of this remarkable unique venue.

The picture above would have to rank as one of my all time favourites. SO beautiful.

Not Long To Go Now

The wait is almost over as the first perview show of 'The Sound of Music' at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre takes place this Thursday evening.

I recently emailed Faye to see if I could find out exactly how the 'preview' shows differ from those that follow but just the other day she tweeted that she was 'Busy, Busy, Busy, Busy, Busy' so I may have to wait a bit for a response.

The crew and cast are no doubt working hard with final rehearsals and fine tuning everything as they preparre for opening night.

I'm sure it's a very special and unique experience being able to perform in such a remarkable setting and it sounds like Faye is really looking forward to her summer in the park:

Finally @OpenAirTheatre its truly one of the most magical places in London. Working here this summer is just a blessing.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

Here is a little article I found online which tells you a little bit more about the theatre itself:

The award-winning Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is a London landmark – a firm fixture of summer in the city, providing a cultural hub in the beautiful surroundings of a Royal Park.

Its steeply raked auditorium is one of the largest in London with 1,240 seats, yet those who attend say it is one of the most intimate.

The Open Air Theatre is built upon a core of outstanding dramatic credentials as they aim to present bold and dynamic productions that stimulate the senses. Weather and climate add a thrilling contribution to their work, making the relationship between performer, text and audience a truly unique event at every performance.

As previews begin for Timothy Sheader’s production of To Kill a Mockingbird on Thursday 16 May, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre announce full casting for the 2013 season.

Laurence Olivier Award nominees Charlotte Wakefield (Maria Rainer) and Michael Xavier (Captain Von Trapp) will lead the cast of The Sound of Music alongside Kimberly Blake, Faye Brookes (Liesl) Helen Colby, Samuel Edwards, Tim Frances, Victoria Hinde, Helen Hobson (Mother Abbess), Christopher Hunt, Caroline Keiff (Elsa Schraeder), Michael Matus, Harry Morrison, Gemma Page, Laura Pick, Stuart Matthew Price, Anna Simmons, Chloe Taylor, Joshua Tonks (Rolf), and Helen Walsh.Directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, The Sound of Music will conclude the 2013 season, playing from 25 July to 7 September.

Question For Faye - #21

Anyone planning on catching one of the early performances of 'The Sound of Music' at Regents Park open air theatre might want to take a hat and sun cream.

There are now just 10 days until opening night and the long term forecast seems to suggest that the clear blue skies and 30+ temperatures are set to continue for some time yet.

Knowing my luck however, it will be coats, wellies and umbrellas that I'll need to take when I see the show at the end of August.

While we wait we'll move on to our next 'Question For Faye':

Question #21
What are your favourite television shows?

Faye's Answer
American trash and well . . . . ANYTHING American.

That's one thing we probably do have in common because I have lost count how many American TV shows I hve on blu-ray and DVD.

Legally Blonde - Find My Way

There are now less than 3 weeks until the opening night of 'Sound of Music' at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre so hopefully Faye is settling in to the role of big Sis Liesl Von Trapp.

Based on her tweets it seems that this past week may have been a memorable one for Faye:

@Faye_Brookes
Why is everything so much better once I've had my nails done

@Faye_Brookes
Finally... It's Wednesday 3rd July... Well I've been patient! x

@Faye_Brookes
Nothing can get me down today...!! 😄💗

I'm not sure why 3rd July was such a special day but I hope it turned out to be as wonderful as she hoped it would be.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately I can't delay it any longer, the time has come for our final track from the Legally Blonde tour.

William Shakespeare wrote
"To thine own self be true, and it must follow as the night the day,
thought cans't not then be false to any man."

I think this wise statement best applies to a woman--a blonde woman.
Over the past three years, she taught me and showed us
all that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

Ladies and gentlemen, our valedictorian:
ELLE WOODS
